• Your Grace will find from a letter of Mr Bosman of the 12th Instant transmitted in Enclosure 2, the enclosed statement from the Harbor Master and Immigration Officer at this Port that the Consul having learned from the Directors of the Surinam Immigration Company that Mr Sobscheid had represented to them that the Charter Party of the "Portland" had been lerothen by the Government of Hongkong plainly informed the Company in reply that such an assertion was "an untruth" and in proof thereof enclosed to the Harbor Master a letter from Mr Sobscheid himself to the Consul stating that the charter had been thrown up by the Charter Party - that is by himself, which fact is further vouched by the Master of the "Portland" in his letter of the 30 November last to the Harbor Master. Vide Enclosure 2.
10. Your Grace may find further proofs of Mr Sobscheid's inaccuracy. Vide Enclosure 1. Mr Deane in his enclosed explanation detailed by where he shews that papers were found in the house with the kidnapped women printed in Mr Sobscheid's name and also pointing out the untruth advanced to the Netherlands Consul by Mr Sobscheid in his letter to that functionary of the 30th October last where he states that the Police Authorities were ignorant of the contents of the papers found - an allegation for which there was no foundation.
